Meet Judge Derek C. Mosley – February 10th,

The celebration continues with an interview and Q&A with Judge Derek C. Mosley by ABHM President and CEO Dr. Robert M. Davis.
Judge Mosley annually curates stories about remarkable events and figures in Black History and shares them on his influential social media platforms. Hear what motivates him, what he has learned, and what he hopes to accomplish with this work. This is also an opportunity to hear about the museum.

Sneak a Peek at the New ABHM Physical Museum!
Dr. Robert “Bert” Davis, ABHM’s President/CEO and Dr. Robert Smith, our Resident Historian give you a quick tour of exhibits covering over 400 years of history.
The original physical museum opened in 1988 and was shut down in 2006. Its reopening in a beautiful new facility has been years in the making. Temporarily closed again due to the coronavirus pandemic, and until it is again safe for visitors, this video gives you a glimpse of what you’ll be able to experience once we can welcome you inside.

Join ABHM’s Book Club Featuring A Time of Terror: A Survivor’s Story by Dr. James Cameron – February 25th, 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Join us for our first ABHM Book Club of 2021 as we celebrate the February 25th birthday of ABHM founder, the late Dr. James Cameron. Dr. Cameron was an avid reader and an inspiring writer and educator. In this remarkable memoir, he recounts his experience surviving a lynching in 1930 when he was just 16 years old.
Book Club participants will need to procure their own copies of A Time of Terror: A Survivor’s Story. Please check for the book locally at Boswell Books, at your nearest library branch, or online at amazon.com and

Partnership with Colectivo Coffee
ABHM is grateful to partner with Colectivo Coffee. Colectivo is proud to introduce a new coffee blend to honor Black History Month: The Griot. This blend celebrates the West African traditions of oral historians who have shared the past and present through music, poetry, and storytelling. This combination of coffees offers notes of peach, date, and light-bodied red wine with a balanced honey sweetness.
Available for purchase at Colectivo February 1st through the 7th.
$1 per bag will help advance ABHM’s vision for a society that remembers its past in order to shape a better future – a nation undivided by race where every person matters equally.

Note: We moderate submissions in order to create a space for meaningful dialogue, a space where museum visitors – adults and youth –– can exchange informed, thoughtful, and relevant comments that add value to our exhibits.

Commercial promotions, impersonations, and incoherent comments likewise fail to meet our goals, so will not be posted. Submissions longer than 120 words will be shortened.

AAUW West Suburban-Milwaukee is interested in having a virtual tour – scheduled for April. (Unfortunately, there isn’t enough time to promote the February virtual tour within our membership.)
