Authorities have identified the teen who was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in Milwaukee, and the search for his killer continued Friday.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday released a report identifying Alijah S. Golden-Richmond, 14, as the person who died.

At a vigil Friday for the teen near where the shooting occurred by the southeast corner of Washington Park, Alijah’s mother, Princella, who asked that her last name not be used, said she hasn’t heard from police why the shooting happened. She says she believes Alijah was on his way home when he was shot.

Alijah was looking forward to starting high school next year, his mother said. He played basketball and football and loved to dance.
