Join us on January 11, 2025 at The Cooperage MKE (822 S. Water Street) for The Sound of Kareem City: A Tribute to Twan Mack, a free community event to honor the life and legacy of one of Hip-Hop’s most innovative and impactful figures—Antoine “Twan” Mack.

As a pioneering artist and community leader, Twan Mack reshaped the landscape of Hip-Hop as a champion of his genre, Adult Contemporary Hip-Hop—an art form that blended conscious lyrics with mature themes. His music, often described as “mental food,” tackled topics like financial literacy, history, and self-awareness, while promoting social responsibility. As a member of Kali Tribe, Twan was instrumental in putting music from Milwaukee on the national map during the 1990s, and his collaborations with artists like Arrested Development, Cypress Hill, and KRS-One helped spread his message worldwide. His influence continues to resonate in Kareem City (Milwaukee) and beyond, as a mentor, collaborator, and community leader.

All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting Twan’s legacy and mother, who he was lovingly caring for before his passing. Fans are also invited to contribute to a documentary chronicling Twan’s impact through crowd-sourced video footage.

• Crowd-Sourced Video to support the upcoming documentary, The Sound of Kareem City: A Tribute to Adult Contemporary Hip-Hop. We invite you to record the night’s show and share your memories of Twan, his music, or how he influenced you. Your contributions may become part of the documentary!
